Consulting
Elder care facilities have their place in the health care continuum. But we all hope to provide our loved ones with the care they need in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes for as long as possible. The challenges of caregiving can prove to be both exhausting and rewarding. An outside trained eye may provide ideas to make such an experience more rewarding and positive for the entire family.
A home care problem solving consultation will include concerns regarding:
- Nutrition - diet management, textures, choking issues
- Personal Care - bathing, oral care, skin care, dressing, etc
- Mobility - walking, stepping, getting in and out of cars and bed, etc
- Safety - wandering, fire prevention, combativeness, lighting, infection control
- Medication administration - scheduling, safety
- Stress Management - light, music, rest
- Toileting - schedules, padding, bed pads
- Behavior Management - agitation, boredom, constructive activity
- Adaptive Equipment - using wheelchairs, walkers, pillows
